What is the script to backup DR file automatically?

Hi friends,


I wanted a script (batch file) to run  IDR wizard automatically.As it is very time consuming to always copy the IDR file as & when the alert come on the screen.Please give me solution asap.

There is no script for running the IDR wizard. You can configure an alternate location for dr file, by going to tools-> options-> IDR and define alternate location. You can use the IDR wizard to create CD once, you can point it to this dr file location later also, during recovery to take the settings from the dr file.

Hi All,

Still the query is not answered. After full backup the DR files should get generated for IDR. This task is manual and manual intervention is not 100% accurate. Sometimes admin forgets to generate DR Files. Then in case of Disaster what Admin will do as he will be not having DR file to restore.

The only manual intervention is to create the ISO image for the CD - the .DR file should be created automatically and as long as you have configured a remote location for the alternate location it should copy the file to the second server for you too.

Are you muddling up ISO CD creation - which you only really need to do when the hardware changes (although some companies do it once a quarter/once a month just in case) with DR file creation?
