Hi,

I have a server that keeps throwing up errors on a users mailboxes, details below: -

Access denied to file Joe Bloggs Top of Information StoreInbox.

The job fails with a0008488 - Access is denied.

I appriciate corrupt emails will not be backup up, however is there a way to configure veritas to complete the job with exceptions if this error occurs?

Thanks

Hi Gavin,

Are you getting access denied only while backing up this particular mailbox?

Try backing it up with NTbackup and verify.

Is the Anti-virus running during the backup?

Does the account have Exchange Full administrators rights?

Is the Mailbox name unique?

"How to confirm that an Exchange mailbox name is unique within the Exchange organization when configuring Backup Exec to back up Exchange "

Also check if the mailbox is not hidden from the (GAL)

I am experiencing exactly the same problem, but I've found that in my case it is because the files are held up by another process, in my case a users Blackberry device is busy synching with Outlook.

It's fine if BE skips the files, since it will just be backed up the next day, but BE is reporting a backup failure. Is there any way to make BE report completed with exceptions (as that is essentially what it is) and not a failure?
