i would like to backup my exchange 2010 sp1 DAG trough a dedicated network instead of MAPI network.
I'm using backupexec 2010 R3. I tryed to set the backup ip of the nodes in the hosts file, unsuccessfully unfortunately.
Any suggestions?

Backup Exec 2010 does not use MAPI to backup Exchange 2010 DAG. So I am not sure what you meant by MAPI network.
To backup Exchange in DAG select the Exchange databases from the DAG node. If it needs to be backed up from using dedicated network then ensure that that dedicated network is available on all the Exchange servers in DAG and to Backup Exec server. Then go to Network and Security in the backup job properties and select the required network.
Refer to the following technotes for more details on backing DAG:

Hi Sush, sorry but i was thinking about the solution proposed by RahulG with the link
but i implemented it unsuccessfully. It seems that when backupexec call the DAG to have the list of nodes, it replays with the ip, non the hostname. So the solution to use the host file became unsuccessfully.
Do it's true or i'm missing something?
