good afternoon,
I have a problem with backup exec 2012, I inventory the slot where the tapes are placed and also wanted to inventory the robotic library but does not allow me and throws me this message.
 

utility items can not be created.
unknown reason :: {0}.  

 

then what I want to do is format the tape to launch the execution of scheduled tasks in backup exec 2012.

Can you confirm the size of the Backup Exec database (BEDB)? Also make sure Backup Exec is fully patched by running live update, as there was a hotfix released for a possible known issue with what you describe. Refer to the documents below:
