Did you configure to send a notification like mentioned in the help?

To send a notification when a job completes

1. Create a new job or edit an existing job.

2. In the Properties pane, under Settings, click Notification.

3. Select the recipients you want to notify when the job completes.

4. To send the job log with the notification to an email address or a printer, check Include job log with a notification to an email or printer recipient.

5. You can continue selecting other options from the Properties pane.

And the tape IS acutally ejected from the drive when the job is finished? And what kind of backup device are you using ?

Follow the steps as given below:

1) In Backup Exec got to ALERTS tab

2) On the left side pane select CONFIGURE ALERT CATEGORY

3) Then a small window will open where you need to select MEDIA REMOVE

4) On the right side in the ensure that the option to Send Notification is enabled and that the correct recepients are selcted

5) Then enable the option "Automatically respond to the Alert" and set the time as "2 minutes"

6) Select "Respond with YES"

7) Click OK to save the changes

Now run the backups and see if you are getting the notifications when the tape is ejected. I believe this should work for you.

Let us know the result.

Thanks,

the notifications settings are correct.

the problem is that the notification mail should be sent when the tape get ejected out.  but it doenst

it does send the mail when we remove the tape from the drive.

we are using a Tape device. a stand alone tape drive.

hello Sush,

the solution you offered didn't solved our problem. we are now getting a mail to remove the tape from the tapedrive.

we want to get a e-mail when the back-up is finished. (when we handly remove the tape, then we reveice a mail that says that the back-up was succesfull.)

normaly the mail should be send when the tapes get ejected, but this aint happening.

hope to hear from you again,

thanks,

Petit
