backup job uses wrong tape

I'm having a problem with my backup jobs selecting the wrong tape to back up to. The job has the correct media set selected, but it still chooses the wrong tape when it starts the backup. For example, when backing up our exchange server for people's email accounts, the job sometimes chooses the tape that is specified for backing up our SQL server. This is very random and I have been trying different things for a while now. I'm using 9.1 with all the patches installed. Any suggestions?

if you have the Global Options (Tools\Options\Media Management set to "Use overwritable media in target media set before scratch media" you shouldn't hve any problems

BUT

the only way to guarantee that a job writes to a specific tape is to partition your loader and then edit your jobs to write to specific partitions

Did you partition the library as suggested?

If the backups are still using the wrong tapes, let us know the settings under Tools > Options > Media Management.
