Veritas 9.1 Rev 4691
The Backup Exec Naming service (which requires the benser.exe file) has a path specified as C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT but the file is located on D:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT.
I tried copying to the different location, but the service failed to restart.
Other agents loaded on this server are:
Agent for Exchange
Agent for SQL Server
(Don't know for the life of me why Agent for SQL was installed-yea I inherited a job with weak documentation. Is the SQL agent somehow needed for Exchange?)
Questions:
1. Should this benser.exe service be running? And I wonder if I have the correct version (since I DO know this site was using Backup Exec 8.5 sometime in the past.)
2. If this service SHOULD be running, do I make a change in the registry to correct the path?
