I’m in process of upgrading from 10d to 11d before that I’d like to moved backup exec database from MSDE SP4 to MSSQL 2005 Standard running on another server (purpose: we moving all stand alone MSDE to centralized MSSQL for centralized backup) and while following instruction how to move backup exec database using BEUTILITY I run into following problem: I’m opening New Media Server screen, adding existing BEXEC server, check media server status and click Get Server Info, all works ok at this point server running, version v10, b5629, r01 on W2k SP4. Now I’m selecting new database location, selecting MSSQL 2005 SP2 from drop down as destination, then I’m being prompted about services being shut down which I say yes and then after few seconds Symantec Backup Exec Utility window is terminated, it is gone. No errors in NT event log anything, any idea what I’m doing wrong?
