cannot start backup exec server service

I hope someone out there can help me as I've been unable to find a solution.  I have 11d installed on a Windows 2003 SBS.  About a week ago it stopped working.  The Backup Exec Server service will not start, causing many of the other services to not start as well.  When I try to manually start it, I receive this error message "error 1067:  The process terminated unexpectedly".
 
When I look at the application logs, this is the only error listed:
 
Faulting application beserver.exe, version 11.0.7170.0, faulting module beserver.exe version 11.0.7170.0 fault address 0x0011350f.
 
One of our other engineers removed backup exec, rebooted, and reinstalled.  However, same error message.  Please advise.

I would suggest installing SP1 to see if that helps out. http://support.veritas.com/docs/290805

Thanks for the advice.  I installed SP1, but I still can't start that service.  I keep getting the same error message in app log:

Faulting application beserver.exe, version 11.0.7170.13, faulting module beserver.exe, version 11.0.7170.13, fault address 0x00113cdf.

I issued the command       BEServer.exe  -console >> C:\BEServer.txt     several times as instructed.  It creates the beserver.txt file, however, the file is empty. 

I did confirm in the application log that it was attempting to start beserver as it had the same error message as before.

Trying running the command without ">> C:\BEServer.txt" to see if an error is generated. 

Also, if you need immediate help please call in and open a support ticket.  Symantec Employees, such as myself will post here when we are available to do so.

Hey Chris,
 
This used to happen to me somewhat often with BE10.
 
I found after windows updates BEengine just would not start  If you got add/remove programs click show updates and remove the ones that installed around that time (if any).
 
Reboot and try to start the BE service again (if it didn't automatically)  After I got a good backup again I would stop the BE service and reapply the updates and they would not cause the issue again in most cases.

Check the regional settings, it must be ENGLISH :)
