invalid drive message when installing eval 11d

I am trying to install the eval version of 11d on a Windows Svr2003 R2 which is also running SQL2005. During the installation I choose the "use SQL database 2000/2005 and select the local server name/instance, but I get the error

"12-06-2006,14:15:30 : ERROR: Error 1327.Invalid Drive: E:\"

I can't figure out where it's coming from b/c I'm not trying to install anything on drive E: (the server doesn't even HAVE a drive E:).


this server is running as a virtual machine w/in VMWare ESX3.0.1, but that shouldn't make a difference. All the prerequisites check out when I do the "environment check" they provide.

Were you earlier trying the installation from a mapped drive with the drive letter -E:..?
