Limitations are as follows:
1. The disk target must *appear* local - that is, must be direct attached storage, iSCSI, or SAN storage
2. The disk target must use NTFS
3. A deduplication storage folder can contain up to 16 TB of *deduplicated* data
Symantec also recommends that the Storage Path and the Database Path be hosted on separate physical drives or sets of drives. This is a performance optimization and is not necessary, only recommended, expecially in larger environments.
