limitation on deduplication storage folder

Dear all,
We wish to know what is the limitation on the deduplication storage folder. Wish experience users can share with us on...
1. 16TB limitation on the pre-dedupe data.
2. can only be created at local HDD (SAN). I tried to create it on CIFS share but it doesn't work.

Hello Yan -

Limitations are as follows:

1. The disk target must *appear* local - that is, must be direct attached storage, iSCSI, or SAN storage

2. The disk target must use NTFS

3. A deduplication storage folder can contain up to 16 TB of *deduplicated* data

Symantec also recommends that the Storage Path and the Database Path be hosted on separate physical drives or sets of drives.  This is a performance optimization and is not necessary, only recommended, expecially in larger environments.
