loging users off before backup

is there any way to automatically log users off at the start of a backup?

Not using BackupExec

IIRC, there is a MS Resource Kit app that will do this.  you could schedule it with Task Scheduler for shortly before the backups start, or perhaps run as  a Pre command of the job.

I looked at the logoff utility, and it looks like I have to run it for every individual user or machine.  I'm thinking at this point, that its probably not a good idea to kick everyone off anyway, and just depend on the open file option.
