Hi

I am using Symantec Backup Exec 11d for Windows Servers

I am restoring Lotus Notes/Domino databases to new hardware.

To date I have :

• Virtualised old server
• performed a backup of old server
• cataloged the tape on the new server
• attempted to do a restore to the new server.

I got:

"e0009409: lotus notes was unable to open a database because the database is in use"

I've tried this a few times.

Any helpp really appreciated.

The following is not clear from your post

1) is your new server a VM?

2) if it is a VM, can you use the tape drive to restore some files, other than Domino databases?

3) are you restoring to a different version of Domino?

New hardware is ESXi server

New server is a P2V VM on Esxi server

Tape is working fine, can backup/restore individual files/folders.

Just failing when restoring Domino and Notes Databases

Obviously with a P2V it the smae version of Domino and Notes

System State was causing error. Not Lotus Notes.
