problems after installing SQL 2000

We had Backup Exec 10.0 installed (with sql MSDE) on a server before there were any SQL servers installed. Now i just installed SQL 2000 + SP4 and after that I can't start B-Exec and the error 7023 appears in the system log.

The Backup Exec Device & Media Service service terminated with the following error:
The database specified does not exist.

I new to SQL so I don't have a clue what to do? well I could reinstall B-Exec but I'd rather solve the problem.
Any ideas?
