"Remove Media" alert auto respond not working (try 2)

I asked this before (http://forums.symantec.com/discussions/thread.jspa?threadID=67743), thought it was solved, but it wasn't. No replies to the old thread so I'm starting a new one.

DLT drive, tapes eject fine, but an alert pops up saying to remove media and the next backup won't go until I close the alert. I set it to auto respond to the remove media with a yes, but it doesn't work.

Windows 2003 Server, Backup Exec 10

Followed instructions here: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/192055.htm and using BEUtility.exe made it work for a few days, but now it is doing the same thing as before.

What else can I do to fix this?

Not really a fix for you, but are you on the latest build that your serials will support (IIRC v10.1 will accept v10.0 serials, but check before installing)

Symantec has had problems with auto-responses in general and this one in particular since v10.0 was introduced, and as far as I remember, have refused to even acknowledge that this IS a bug

So you think 10.1 will fix this? If so, how do I get it?

Don't know if it will or not. I don't use AutoRespond.

v10.1 (v10d) is here
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/279332.htm

SP2 here
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/285482.htm

Driver pack here

Again, I'm pretty sure that v10.1 will accept a v10.0 serial, but check with Symantec first

Well, the serial numbers worked fine - the install just went through as an upgrade.

I had to run BEUtility again, but for the last 3 days it's been working. If it keeps working through Monday I'll call this one solved, but I'm going to hold off until then since I thought it was solved before.
