Hi,
I backup my Data using a BD2 Folder located on a Network attached Storage. It works well but, I've got an error recently in the verification Step :
"E00084C8 The backup storage device has failed" However, backup worked and I can read the Data.
Is is important to Verify backup after complete backup ?
( The size of the backup is rather Important : 300Go)
Thank You

Symantec recommends to verify backups as it performs a checksum and validates if data is properly
backed up.

Yes verify checks for the integrity of the data
you might need to To check if the backup to disk residing on the Network passes the test using the b2d test tool.

It doesn't verify data was properly backed up. If it did, it would compare the backup to the source data, but it doesnt. Would be nice, no?
All verify does is re-read the datafile that was now written (BKF file), and check the checksums to verfiy during the write process nothing was corrupted. bad disk, SMART errors, network errors, etc that would cause a corruption upon write.
