I have little problem while backup on mentioned configuration. Actually, it was quite fine last week, so we have had few (approx 10) successful backups. And then on last Friday during the backup job we have lost networking. There were few weird things about it:
1. backup still was successful (it was only locally)
2. network physically was working (e.g.. I could remotely log on to my workstation from server) but looked like the domain was down
The problem is that when this happens whole production in company stops, because the looms are unable to fetch the patterns from SQL server. We are still working on our second domain controller but this is not the case.
The situation I described did not start after some particular or unusual event. Though, I had had some problems with the tape device but it did happen earlier and backups were successful without crashing the domain (network?).
