slow copy to tape storage

Symantec Backup Exec displays speed when performing backups.
We use the device backup Copy IBM (TS3200 tape library and tape drive LTO Ultrium 5 Fibre Channel Drive), which are the speed of the drive up to 140MB / s. Backup Exec displays the speed of approximately 4Gb/min (when compressed) and 2.5 GB / min with no compression.
How can we improve the system performance in order to approach the characteristics IBM. Because tape drive with an interface FC, the bottleneck is the capacity of the drive. In terms of the gap is more than three times.
In agreeing specifications we considered the option SAN Shared Option. Perhaps not enough components to work on SAN (Fibre Channel)?

You can try to increase the block and buffer sizes.  See my article below on how to tune your library.

Although it is written for LTO4, the principle is the same for LTO5
