target drive not seen

HI... I have just downloaded and installed Backup Exec 11d.
When I attempt to create a new job when it comes to selecting a destination drive to backup to I cannot see it in the window.. ??

Does it show up on the devices tab?

Is it displayed in Device Manager?

There are a couple of things you can try; the first would be to simply try cycling the BE services.

Next would be to poser the server and backup device down normally so that they are completely powered off. Then power on the backup device, allow it to stabilize and then power on the server.

HI... I have done as suggested but. Backup Exec does not list the external HDD.

Do you have any more sggestions ?

Hello,

Are using an external disk as backup destination? Ensure that the device is recognised in Windows!

You would need to create removable backup to disk folders in Backup Exec:
