user defined selection - broken

Under backup exec 10 I am able to create a user defined selection to a lacie bigdisk network hard disk.
It prompts me for a logon account, and once created all the files are selectable for baclup.

The same machine with the same logon account details will not work with backup exec 11 or 12.

I have tested this with both IP and DNS names for the user defined selection.
I have tested this with and without a domain prefix.

It appears that others on this forums have reported similar issues in the past and no repsonce was made by symantec.

We have backup exec installed on 30+ client sites and will be forced to move to an alternative product if this is not resolved.

Please responde urgently.

What specific errors do you get?

Do you have a RAWS serial installed on the media server?  Even though you cannot install the agent on the LaCie, you still need the RAWS serial

Error message is "Access denied"
Software currently in trial mode, no keys needed in trial mode?

FYI, works fine in trial mode on 10d

Right, no serials required.

Don't know what to tell you .  If the account works under 10d it ought to work with v12 <shrug>

I have now tested this on 7 different sites.
Some with valid serial numbers, others in trial mode.

None work with version 11 or 12.
All worked with version 10.

Conclusion - They broke it !!!!
