Hello,
Does anyone know what the Enterprise Vault Search Folders, and the subfolders underneath (Initial Trawl, Initial Trawl with Pending and Journal Parts) are ment to do? (target is Exchange 2013 Jnl mailboxes)
I have some large mailboxes with many Pending)
thx. GJ

If remember correctly, when Exchange 2013 came out there were performance issues with Journal archiving. The issue sourced from Exchange 2013 no longer caching custom views, which EV Journal Archiving used heavily. These "Search Folders" would be the replacement for the custom views. If you were to look at the "Search Folder" critera it should have something to the effect of MessageClass=IPM.NOTE.ENTERPRISEVAULT.PENDINGARCHIVE & MessageClass=IPM.NOTE.ENTERPRISEVAULT.PENDING.PART
Do not delete/modify them.

I assumed so, but could not find anything related to this.

The folders underneath the Search folder in a journal mailbox was introduced in 11.0.1 CHF 4 to fix performance issues seen while archiving from Exchange 2013 mailboxes.
