Additional User cannot access Archived E-Mail

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the archive, specifically users unable to retrieve.

For example. User A has an archived mailbox that User B has access to. The permissions on the archive server and on the mailbox show granted access to everything. However; User B is unable to retrieve any attachments that have been archived.

Any ideas?

Here are the reg keys for Outlook xp/2002:

Follow these steps, and then quit Registry Editor:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type SharedFolderScript, and then press ENTER.
5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
6. Type 1, and then click OK.

Hi,

Is this Outlook 2003. It sounds like the shared scripting registry key that needs to be set.

Hi,

Check this thread in-case relevant.

http://forums.veritas.com/discussions/thread.jspa?forumID=106&threadID=57065&messageID=4406608㵐

I also found this which confirms my thinking that the same 'security' improvements have been applied to Outlook Xp sp3.

Hi again,

checked both of those links and they both mention the scripting not being enabled on shared folders. Ive included the dword's in the registry but it doesnt seem to have made a difference.

this is most bizarre

Ok just so I make sure I understand what's happening. User A has User B's mailbox as an additional mailbox on his Outlook profile and can't retrieve items. Can User A search User's B vault using the web app search? It User A can search, then it does sound like the scripts are disabled under shared mailboxes.

In Outlook, go to Tools, Others, Advanced options and make sure Allow Scripts in Shared Folders is checked.

Hello

thanks for your response

that solution was part of an earlier post, well a URL from that post. That option is onyl available in Outlook 2003. I do agree that the problem is with the scripts not being able to execute in shared folders but at the minute there is no fix that i can find.

I would guess your 2 options are upgrade to Outlook 2003, or use Archive Explorer.
