Copy Vault Store and Index to a new drive

Hi,

I have one question. I want to copy my EV (7.5 SP3)  vault store and my index to a new local drive. I have to do this, because my new partition must be bigger than 2 TB - so I have
to create a GPT Partition. So here is my planned way:

1. Backup
2. Enable EV Backup Mode
3. Copy the data with robocopy to the new drive
4. Stop all EV services
5. Change drive letter (so that the new drive has the drive letter of the old drive)
6. Disable EV Backup Mode
7. Start EV services.

Can I change the vault store to the new drive with the discribed process?

Yes, your process should work without problems.

I agree .. it should work.  I don't think it applies to EV 2007 ... but if any of the folders in your partition are shared out, you'll need to recreate those shares, I think .. but like I said ..  I think that only applies to EV 8

Even then, EV checks for folder sharing on StorageService startup, and recreates the shares... I think?

you have the right idea with your process. i'd set backup mode first and then backup :)

I can confirm, your idea is the right one( with the backup mode first) as I did it with success this way myself.
