Daily difference in Items Archival Rate

just looked at the Items Archival Rate report - (for the first time ) - very enlightening

spotted rates on some days which are double or greater than other days

Ah - perhaps we rebooted - checked - no correlation

Can anyone give a reason why the schedule - which runs the same each day - give such diverse results ?

( or put another way  - can we have the highest rate every day ?)

A couple things to look at.

1)  do you see a drop-off in the number of items archived in the last hour of archiving?  This would indicate that you are completing the data to be archived in the allowed window.

2)  What day of the week was it archiving?  You'll need to look back based on your archiving periodicity, to what was going on the day the emails were received.

3)  Weekends and holidays create less data to be archived, 30, 60, 90 days later (again depending on the archiving periodicity).

4)  What else was going on  on the server/network?  i.e. backups, outages, network issues, etc...
