hi,
i am about to perform an inmplementation of EV2007
i have a few question regrading the product:
1. What is the compression rate of mail and files archiving
2. does the mail search support other languages (Hebrew)?
3. does the EV know to scan for viruses inside archive fies? what happened of the EV archive a file or mail that infected by a Virus.
4. how does the EV check single instance? by the file name or by the content inside the file?
Thanks
Yoav

1. Depends on your environment
2. Yes (Compatibility Guide, Page 73/74)
3. No. EV does not scan for viruses, and virus scanners can't scan DVS files. The virus will be archived ;) (So make sure your viruses get detected on the fileserver before archiving the files)
4. Single instance is done on Vault Store level, it does not single instance mail attachments, whole mails only. This will change in the next version... stay tuned!
Cheers
Michel

Thank you for the response.
regarding the single instance, does it check files by their change of contact, or by the change of their name?

For question #1 - It definitely depends on your environment, but the EV Performance Guide can at least give you some initial ideas about calculating your Vault Store space, etc.

Actually, it's more like "mail id", i think....

it is by the change if the file content i believe.

Currently, yes.
But with the new fingerprinting mechanism in EV8, you will have the same or even better SIS, I think...
