Is outlook XP supported in EV 8.0 SP 2 / SP3? Or only 2003/ 2007 clients supported?

Yup, you'll have to use ev2007 add in for your outlook 2002 clients, which is still compatible with ev8, you just won't get the benefits of vault cache and virtual vault etc

Only Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 are supported in the EV 8 Outlook Add-in.

Is this configuration supported by Symantec, outlook XP with EV 2007 version of add-in?

To Fasoy,

Yes it is.  See the Compatibility Charts on page 39 for the client side Outlook version support.

Hello Rob,

I have read the compatibility charts Pages 9, 10 and 39 and would like to clarify the following scenario please.

The client version is Outlook 2000 with EV 7.5 add-ins.
Offline vault is configured and enabled for all clients.
We plan to upgrade to EV 8 in the very near future

From what I can gather, Cache vault is not supported on 7.5 Add-ins.
With Outlook 2000 we are limited anyway to maintaining this version of the add-ins. (Version 8 cannot be installed)

Question -
Will an upgrade to EV 8 SP 3 effect the current functionality with Offline Vault on the clients?
Is 7.5 add-ins fully backward compatible (specfically the existing Offine Vault funtionality) with EV 8 SP 3

Best Regards

Chris

Offline Vault will still function through registry keys as its just download.asp and purely client side
however EV8 clients Vault Cache will not function with EV2007 server

What i will say though is although its technically supported, i doubt you will be able to get any fixes from symantec regarding outlook 2000 functionality due to the fact that its end of lifed from microsofts side

JW2 is pretty much correct.

I think it's just a matter of pushing hard to get the Outlook clients upgraded to Outlook 2003+.
