Hi All,
We've recently upgraded our server anc outlook client software from 8.0.4 to 9.0.
We run Exchange 2007 sp3, outlook 2007 sp2 mixture of win xp and win 7 workstations. We also have local cache enabled.
Users are reporting that outlook is hanging when opening up a shortcut. the period of hanging is from 30-40 seconds.
This isn't occurring for all users, and for the few users that have reported it, they say it only happens to 2 or 3 emails per day.
Anyone else having reports of this? or seen this before?
Cheers
Justin

It might be worth getting a client trace if the issue is relatively easy to replicate, just to see if there are issues with contacting the EV server when the delay is seen

As Nick mentioned, enable full client tracing, and then get the subject of the mail that is causing the problem .. and then that can be found in the client trace. It might then show the problem.

Close Outlook on a problem machine and wait until the outlook.exe process ends (use Task Manager to confirm it isn't running)
Start, Run, fixmapi <Enter>
Start, Run, C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\EvClient\ResetEvClient.exe <Enter>
Open Outlook and try again
