EV Client causes massive log files in User Temp Dir - Crashes client

Ashen

Running EV 2007 SP3 with the latest EV Client on the workstation. WinXP SP3 with Outlook 2003 SP3.

The Exchange mailbox is shared by two different users on two different pcs that access the mailbox at the same time.

Manual install of EV client - can access vault fine, perform searches without issue.

However in the c:\documents and settings\%username%\local settintgs\temp\ dir the "ev_client_log_CURRENTDATE.log"  grows exponentially on both workstations throughout the day.

Up to a few GB in size - enough to cause the workstation to run out of virtual mem and crash.

The log file is full of the following lines over and over just repeating themselves.

We have a few shared mailboxes in a similar setup to this that don't have the same problem - we have completed over 150 workstation EV client installs so far and these are the only workstation EV client issues we've found.

Hi,

seems you have the Diagnostic mode switched on the client.

Just Hold (alls left) SHIFT+CTRL down and click on any Enterprise Vault button on the client affected.

Set the logging level back to 'Informational' which is the default setting for EV client logging.

Kind regards,

Nico

Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately logging is set to Informational only - the problem still occurs.

I'm sure I could set this to Errors and the log file would not grow.

I forgot to mention each of the users share the same mailbox and the same 4 or so other mailboxes that they can view in their navigation tree.

They also have access to 10 or more archived mailboxes through Archive Explorer / Search.
