Dear Expert,

Is it possible to migrate EV archived data from a domain to new domain Exchange server. Is there any procedure for the same?

Also is it possible to convert the archived email items to native format or pst files.

Regards,

Gulzar Shaikh

Well actually are we talking about exporting items from EV to exchange? Not just targeting exchange in a new domain? If you were to do EV to exchange you can use the export archive wizard to put it back in the original mailbox, but it's labor intensive But if you wanted to export items from EV to Exchange 2010 archive then you would have to use something like transvault as EV just does export to mailbox or PST Third party utilities are only faster because you can queue up users to move or export etc, where as with EV you would have to select each user and go through a 5 page export wizard etc

For exporting you just open the vault admin console and then right click archives and select Export You can export back to the mailbox or to a PST file As for migration to another exchange domain, Is EV moving domains too or just exchange? If its just exchange, I would suggest addin the new domain in the VAC, adding the exchange servers and then use synchInMigrationMode registry key If you can preserve the LegacyExchangeDN and MbxGUIDs with the migration then the mailboxes will be relinked to their archives

Does the export work on indivisual mailbox level or EV server level? I read on some of the forums that it is desirable to use third party tool such as Archive Shuttle.
