For one user, I am trying to archive all Calendar items older than 9 months and I have created the following ini file. I have run EVPM, but there are still items with Modify dates older than 9 months. Would someone please correct my script?

Thanks!

Did you do a "run now" on the archiving task?

Cheers

I see this in the report.

No of items ready to archive 0

It doesn't appear that there are any items that are older than (9) months.

So this will not remove recurring items that are older than the inactivity period specified?

I am not a expert in this area so I will request and opinion from other tech's who are following this thread but here is my opinion.

EV will not remove calendar items. It will only archive them. I believe that EV will archive the attachments though.

Search the archive that you are archiving to and verify that the calendar items have been archived.

What version are you currently on?

The point of archiving is to reduce the item count in the folder Calendar. If you archive but do not create a stub, then the item should be removed from the folder, right?

It is fine if it a 2-part process, but my recurring appointments are not being archived.

Then EV will archive the item but it will not leave a stub. If you search your archive then you should see you calendar items. Ev does have a policy setting to strip the attachment once the calendar item has been archived. The attachments in the calendar item can be space hogs.

Also,
I should have asked this question first. You do have your message classes set so you are archiving calendar items correct?

I believe they are IPM.APPOINTMENTS

Also,

If you do not want to delete then do not set Exchange to delete.
