Enterprise Vault FSA v8.0 SP2 archive point

Serverteam
Level 4

We had a test file system archive setup on our EMC  centera device pointing to the share \\server1\info$\tech\*.*
We have since removed the archive points and unarchived the files. As our Centera is in compliance mode nothing is being deleted. The old vault store partition that this resided on is closed.
I now want to start a fresh archive point under \\server1\info$\tech\*.*  Unfortunately the vault remembers the previous archive point and tries to archive to the closed vault store. Is there a way to start with a fresh archive point for the above location, which points to our new vault store.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

First delete the old archive point then create a new one

To delete the old go to the command prompt navigate to where EV is installed Normally c:\program files\enterprise vault\

type archivepoints.exe DELETE \\server1\info$\tech this will delete the old archive point. Once thats complete create a new archive point using the above command but replace Delete with create

one of these options should help:

Option 1
  • From within the VAC expand targets
  • Expand File Servers
  • Expand the file server containing the archive point that needs removing
  • Right click on the archive volume containing the archive point and select the Archive Points option
  • The Archive Points window will open
  • Click on the archive point you intend to remove
  • Click the remove button at the bottom of the window
Option 2
  • Open a command line window and change to the Enterprise Vault directory
  • To remove the archive point run the command:- "archivepoints delete <path to archive point>"
