Enterprise Vault SQL Express

Hi,

Can you please confirm if SQL 2005 Express can be used for Enterprise Vault? rather than the full blown version - searched around and cannot find any answers.

Trying to save a few £, if we need to also purchase SQL server this could become a bit too expensive.

Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi,

Check out page 12 of the Compatibility Guide for SQL 2005 Express.

ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/Exchange_Mailbox_Archiving_Unit/276547.pdf

Note that in Enterprise Vault 8 base is is not supported and pending for 8Sp1 and 8SP2, which means that it may eventually be decided that it will not be supported.

Previous versions are yes with important notes assiocated with them.

If you want my advice dont't do it.

Agree with The Don on this one. If you are spending money on Enterprise Vault you may as well get the better version of SQL to work with it...

Many thanks for your help, will give up on this for now as too expensive with SQL on top.
