Enterprise Vault tasks no longer running after old DCs decommisioned.

Hi

We have a multi-domain environment and have had EV7.5 running happily for 5 years.

I have had a user in IT Security accessing multiple archives and restoring the items to her mailbox via the archive explorer.

Since this morning this no longer works. When specifying an exchange server and mailbox the wizard cannot locate the mailbox and throws up an error unable to connect to mailbox.

Two old DCs were decommisioned last night, one of which used to be a GC server. Is it possible that somewhere this GC is still being referenced by EV or Exchange?

Where could I check?  All other tasks for the other domains are working fine.

Cheers

Rick

A Global Catalog Server can be specified in the Vault Admin Console under Targets>Exchange on the Properties of the domain target.

You could also try logging on to the EV server with the Vault Service Account credentials and checking the "DS Server" registry value under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Exchange Provider

Have you set this GC somewhere in the registry for Enterprise Vault?
Could you try searching for this Domain Controller in the Registry, and see if something pops up?

Cheers
