Exchange Hybrid EV requirements?

VersEV1

currently have 4 exchange 2010 servers in the environment. we want to install a couple 2013 servers but we will not host mailboxes on 2013. they will just be hybrid front end servers.

will this affect EV in anyway? EV will only be targeting the 2010 servers. so the requirements per the compatibility guide should not come in to play correct? what about permissions and throttling scripts?

Hello,

As long as you do not have mailboxes to archive on those servers, or use them as fail-over for a DAG, AFAIK you do not need to do anything. If you use OWA extentions, you might need to reconfigure those.

Regards. Gertjan

EV 10 supports 2013 up to cu9. What if we went to a cu higher than 9, would that matter since it will not be hosting mailboxes? archiving and retrieval should work without issue right?

would OWA work if extensions were put on 2013?
