Exchange System Manager and Enterprise Vault....

Peter_Thompson

Hello

We are currently running EV 5 SP5 on Windows 2000 Servers, against an Exchange 2003 architecture running on W2k3.

I would like to upgrade the Exchange System Manager on the EV servers from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003, so as to ensure I've got the latest mapi files on the EV servers...

Can somebody confirm that it is a supported configuration (from an Enterprise Vault perspective) to have Exchange 2003 System Manager running on a Windows 2000 EV server?

The reason I ask is that Microsoft say it IS (see here http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321648), BUT Veritas recommend sticking with Exchange 2000 System Manager (see here http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/278028.htm). The latter document is approaching a year old, however....

Thanks in advance for your help!

Peter,
The install and config guide says to use ESM 2000 if your server is 2000, but if MS says it is ok I think you will be allright.

regards,
