Export archived email to pst problem with attachments and full email

When archived Outlook 2007 email is tagged by the Enterprise Vault we are unable to export attachments and full email to .PST

Works okay if we are working from the system that performed the export, (inside the office and network) but when staff use a standalone computer from home off our network and import the Outlook .PST file into Outlook 2007 they do not have attachments and their full body email imported?

Understand that our work computers have the Enterprise Vault add-in for outlook installed, is the add-in required for home computers in order to import the attachments and full email?

Realize that the Enterprise Vault export can be run from the server via an administrator but we want our staff to complete their own email exports from their own work computers.  Our staff want the ability to take their Outlook .pst export and import it to their home computer which is not connected to the office network.

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you.

yes the add-in is required and no enterprise vault shortcuts will not work from a home computer that's off your network (for many reasons)

you do have several options such as vault cache (used to be called offline vault), they could use OWA, publishing archive explorer or the search page for external access, etc.

remember that the shortcuts need to connect back to your EV server(s) so if a user is opening them from a home pc without the addin and without network access, it's not going to be able to retrieve the archived data from the EV server.
