FSA and Archive Points

Hi,

I need confirmation on Archive Point configuration with FSA.

I'm using EV7.0 and I want to create a single archive from the top level network share. The options for creating Archive Points, in order of preference are GUI, ArchivePoint.exe utility, or manual (.url archive point).

EV7.0 lets you create archive point when defining a FOLDER in the GUI, but when you create a VOLUME, you don't get the option to create the archive point.

So, I think in my situation, I still need to create an archive point using the ArchivePoints.exe utility at the VOLUME. Another option might be to create a FOLDER policy on the VOLUME, but this may have undesirable affects with archiving.

Am I correct?

Everything sounds ok although I'm not sure what you mean by creating a folder policy on the volume since you would normally have a volume policy for the volume.

Yes, sorry - I meant folder target. But you're right, you wouldn't do it regardless - You'd have volume and folder policies on the same object.
