Hardware performance!

Hello,

can someone tell me whether this composition is good enough for archiving.

I Have severel Times a day the event ID 3249

Error occurred when sending a MQ message

There are insufficient resources to perform this operation. [0xc00e0027]

 Message Properties:

 

used hardware for EV:

Intel Xeon CPU E5440 2,83 GHZ
RAM 3.25 GB

SQL Server:
Intel Xeon CPU E5440 3,80 GHZ
3,5 GB RAM


OS:
EV -> Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2
SQL -> Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2


Enterprise Vault 2007 Version 7.5 (no service pack)

Storage limits: set to 2GB


1300 Mailboxes
Archiving every night all mails older then 30 Days
journaling continuously

i have increase storage limits to 2GB but in my boot.ini is the 3GB switch not enabled.

How do i do this and do i need enable this switch?

this is my Boot.ini:

i add following line to the Boot.ini:

 Are you running Antivirus on the EV server? If so you must exclude the directories where you store your data and your indexes

I would change it to 8 Gb.

Do you mean, upgrade the RAM in my server or the 3GB switch that i want add to the boot.ini?

if you mean the 3GB switch, is the string that i've posted correct?
Because the server will not start anymore if there is a fault in the boot.ini

The 3GB switch in the Boot.ini has never been recommended as part of an EV install 

The issue is either not enough memory, overloaded server or disk too slow to handle the requests

you mean that my composition of hardware is not gut enough?

we use a SAN for the data en indexing.
So i think the it is not the disks.

free space on c: 28 GB
free space on d: 18GB
Fre space on e: (ev data): 353 GB
Free space o f: (ev index)  352 GB

It hasn't got anything to do with RAM... you're just going back to the pre Windows 2003 SP 2 version ( as described in the technote, and the linked Microsoft Knowledgebase article ).  I would restart the server, yes.

as you can see  my English is very poor. I've read the technote but i did not  really understand it ...until now.
Now it is clear and i Will change the settings tomorrow in the morning.
I report asap the result.

hello Rob Wilcox,

I've increase the storage limits to 8 GB.
After reboot the server everything looks fine.
After an hour i start rebuild index of my journal mailbox.
Then a bit later (+- 2 hours) services stops again (several times)
I stop the rebuild of the index and now it seems to be OK
is it not possible to do those both things on the same time?
The same problem when archiving several mailboxes at the same time or export pst's.
 

I ask again would it be better that i optimize my hardware?

can you post then what you have set your registry entry to?

To resolve this, make the following registry change on as per Method 3 in Microsoft article 899612

On the Edit menu, click Modify.
 

Type amount of space, and then press ENTER. You must specify the amount of space in kilobytes.

I have not received this notification :"This operation is not supported for message queuing installed in workgroup mode"., after changing the settings.

Yep - it should work fine after that.. if not then the best route is to go via Support, I think.

This night was the first night, since i start archiving, without issues.
More then 80% of my 1200 mailboxes where archived.
The services runs stable.
