How to browse archive items using IContentManagementAPI ?

Hi all,
We need to write a connector to Enterprise Vault for our Enterprise Search product, and I was wondering if it was possible to browse all the items of a given archive. Right now, I only see the search interface as the possible way to get the items (when you don't know what's there a priori of course).

Any help would be appreciated,
