How to cancel an archive marked for deletion?

Hi,

I was trying to delete some old test archives, which I first used to move from one store to another on the same server.

How, I get the event id 7113 now on the tasks:

Following archive could not be deleted as it contains items that are on hold, or their retention category does not allow deletions, or a compliance device retention period prevents them from being deleted.

I does tell me that there are items on hold.

I've made a new retension category so I can delete items older than 1 day. And the setting 'users can delete items from their archives" is on.

But, these archives are now on marked for deletion, which I cannot seem to be able to cancel.

Will EV give up after xx attemps or is there a way to cancel the deletion, so to unmark somehow?

Also, what does it maen that items are on hold? Could that have to do with the moving of the one store partition to the other?

Cheers,

Michael

Good morning, this may be helpful in finding what is on hold.

you can refer the following document to change the status

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH49414

Make sure there is a full current backups before deleting any archives.
Be very careful to select the correct archive and be very certain that is the archive to be deleted.
Once deleted the only way to restore it is from a full Disaster Recovery

When you delete an archive All of the contents stored in the archive will be deleted before the archive itself is deleted This may take some time depending on the size and number of items in the archive. Till that time the archive would be inmarked for deletion state.

IF you are running Ev 8.0 refer http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH129111 so Turn off the option in retention category used by items stored in this archive

Hope this answers all your query
