How to resolve missing items in index?

There are actual missing items. However, no Index is failed. Rebuilding has been done.

What can be done to fix this so that there is no more missing items shown in Index Volume Browser?
I hope we don't have to use the EVSVR tool for this?

Environment:
EV 10.0.4 (on Windows 2012 R2)
SQL Server 2008 R2 SP3 (on Windows 2008 R2)

Hi mate,

Note that volumes will only be marked as failed due to missing items when the number of missing items is above a specific threshold, 25 by default. Also notice that it is possible to have items that cannot be indexed, like images or PDF files that cannot be indexed.

Have a look on this article for more details on this: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO56247

In this case, I am specifically refering to missing items (which is different from missing content).

My index volume is not mark as failed because there is only a few missing items but is there any way to remove the missing item records?

Hi Mart,

Right, got it.

Can you have a look at the missingitems.txt file? This should give you some indication as to why items could not get indexed.

You may need to log a case if nor synch or rebuild helps.
