Installing EV8 SP3 on Windows 2008 Standard with SP2

Hi! I'm struggeling with an installation of EV 8 SP3 on a Windows 2008 server. It's a standard server with sp2 installed with DC running.

After doing all the pre-installation tasks i was set to install the EV server software, but the installation halts when it tries to stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service. It count for 180 seconds and just states that it is not able to stop the service.

When trying an manual stop of the service i only get an error message saying:

Windows could not stop the Windows Management Instrumentation service on local computer.

Error 1052: The requested control is not valid for this service.

Anyone ecountered this one?

Hi,

Did you run the Deployment Scanner, specifiyng all the servers (exchange, file, sql)?
Have you tried to uninstall the WMI or reconfigure it?
I have a weird thought that the problem comes from some agent of the vendor installed on the server (Is it IBM, HP or Dell?).
If yes, try to uninstall all that software before installing EV.
