MSMQ - why do I see multiple sets of archiving queues?

Can someone explain to me why I am seeing multiple sets of EV archiving, restore and admin queues when I look at the MSMQ MMC?

For example I see two sets of queues on one server and they are listed something like this:

\Private$\Enterprise Vault Exchange Mailbox Task for 060731143325 A1

\Private$\Enterprise Vault Exchange Mailbox Task for 060731154867 A1

As you can see only the numeric identifier is different. On my first EV server I actually have 2 sets while on my 2nd server I have 4 sets.

The numeric numbers have to do with create time.

\Private$\Enterprise Vault Exchange Mailbox Task for 060731154867 A1

06 = 2006
07= July
31= 31st
1154867= 11:54:867

did you happen to recreate the task?

You can delete the queues that you do not need.

Will it effect performance to have queues that are not being used?

No, it just makes monitoring the queues a bit more difficult, as you have addtional entries in the Private Queues folder.
