Manually archiving delay

Hi all, When a user archives manually an items in Outlook, he gets the archive pending icon. We have always a delay of several minutes before the item is archived. Where is this delay specified? Why does it takes so much time (more than 8 minutes) to archive an item? We are running EV 10.0.2. Thanks Pierre.

No, you are not waiting for a task to process, as long as the archive tasking is running.  :)

The delay you are seeing is most likely waiting for EV to get confirmation from the Hitachi that the item is secured on the replica before switching from a safety copy to the short cut.

What is your storage device?  If something like Centera it is probably waiting for replications to occur and the confirmation the item is secured.

Hi Tony, Thanks for your answer. We are using Hitachi HCP device, so indeed, the items has to be replicated to the other HCP before considering the item is secured. But can you please confirm there is no delay when a user archives an item manually? We don't have to wait for a task in EV running every x minutes ..... Thanks. Pierre.

So thats your device replication causing thi delay. There is no delay in Manual archiving. Once the archived item replicated to other HCP, task should auto post process the item.
