Multiple MSMQs for one server??

Leonardo_Fern1

I recently noticed that I have two sets of MSMQs for the same server and messages pending in various quques in both sets? Is this by design, or do I have a problem? Can I delete one set of queues once they have been cleared? I only have one exchange server.

Not sure what you mean?

They look normal, their's just two sets. admin queue, r1, r2, the 'a' queues and then the admin queue. Then it repeats.

You can shutdown your task and clear the MSMQ's (DO NOT CLEAR THE A1 QUEUE SEE PURGE QUEUE NOTE). This is the queue that takes care of the shortcuts. You can have duplicate entries in outlook if you clear the A1 queue.

Purge queues

1. Delete the MSMQ's both sets. You have to do this one at a time.
2. Start the Archiving task. This will create the queues and update SQL.
3. Refresh the MSMQ. You will notice that the queue's are created.
4. IF the R1 or R2 are not there then do a restore.
