No Accessible Vaults

We've got a weird error whereby internal OCS works fine however OCS via our VPN when archiving gives us the error below.

I've run through all the steps in this technote http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/287827.htm including deleting the OWA VD and recreating but still no joy. It had been working fine until yesterday so my immediate thought was the evanon user must have expired password but I've checked this and even reset it but still no fix. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Paul

Thanks for the replies..

Have checked http://support.veritas.com/docs/316895 and that is not the issue.

We are running Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 and I thought proxycfg wasnt available on this platform ?

You have mentioned that Internally this works fine. So there could be no problem with EVANON.

What difference is when a VPN is in picture? ISA?

Hi Rahul,

It does work internally yes. I did think it may be EVanon but have since recreated that virtual directory and permissions.

No ISA involved in VPN we use Juniper Neoteris. It had been working up until last week.

Hi we have tried everything in those technotes but still no joy. It works fine internally but still no accessible vaults via VPN.

Do we need to add getarchivesettings.asp to the resource field of the filter as well as those listed in the technotes ?

Hi Paul,

I faced the same problem,

two behaviors for this problem:
  1. When trying to do manual archive , No accessible vaults  “same as your problem”
  2. Second, when trying to access an archived items, IE redirect the request and  some times request username and password

It was resolved, by adding all exchange IP addres to exchangeservers.txt which is located in Enterprise Vault folder, "note that the customer check exchange IP address in this file three days, but unfotunetly, he missed one", so please check all ip's in this file. add all IP then restart IIS, it should work

Hope this works,

Hi Paul,

Check also IIS logs for Enterprise Vault server, click run > logfile . - located in " c:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1"
To know what IP address are involved,  check evanon\getarchivesettings.asp request are come from..
