hi,

has anyone some information how this is working in detail?

* how and when is the evoffline.nsf created?

* are already archived items also retrieved in a newly created offline vault?

* is the offline vault also used if the user is only and try to access some archive data?

I recommend reading the Installing and configuration guide, Section 5.

1) The offline database is created when the user has a replica and is enabled for EV and for Offline Vault.

2) Yes, already archived items will be added to the offline db

3) Depends on the situation: if the user works in the local replica the item will first be searched in the offline cache. If this fails, it tries to locate it in the online archive

Hope this gives you an idea.

thanks for your response - i know section 5 but my questions are more technical...

1.) who is the evoffline created - by which task and when (during a replication?)

2.) is there any possibility (log, action) to check when he added some documets to the offline db?

3.) is it possible to first check the local offline db also in online mode ?

4.) if 2 users work on the same pc and both have offline vault enabled  - what will the system do (create 2 offline db's? create no offline db? unse the same db for both users - whats about the acl?)
