Outlook Add-In Required?

Is the Outlook Add-In required even if I only want users to see the shortcut of an archived email and have the ability to click on it to retreive the entire message?

I don't want them to have the ability to store, restore, or delete from the Vault archive...just retrieve.

Simple Yes.

Unless they use the html rendition, but thats a ugly work arround.

Wouldn't it be possible to set the shortcut content to "customize", include whole body, and include attachments as links? Shouldn't this work? But why don't you want to deploy the add-in anyway? It's pretty simple to deploy... Cheers Michel

I don't mind deploying the add-in.  As long as they can't do anything with it other than retrieving an archived email.   I have seen the Exchange Desktop Policy that gives the option to Enable and On Toolbar.

Deploy the client and hide all the options from in the Desktop Policy ;)
