Hi,

I have a Big Problem, we don't want user to restore mailbox back to their mailbox. So we hidden all restore button.

Today we found some user with old items that don't archive because they  where to young to archive. After some investigate we found out that the user did the following.

Open the archive Item in Outlook (2010), then he select in the Menu File, then pressed "Move item to a different folder".

After this operations a new item was created in the mailbox, duplicating the item.

How can I prevent the user from restoring Item, this way.

I environment is:

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 RU 15
  • Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 (Original instalaion EV 8.0, upgraded)
  • Outlook 2010 with Outlook add'ins V10.0.0.1354

Basiclly you can't.  User's will find a way to circumvent any normal process if they really want to.  If they didn't do it this way the would forward it to themselves, or just copy it somewhere else.
