Override Inherited Settings and Provisioning Groups

How does it work?

Scenario: Let's say I have a PG "A" set to use Vault Store A-001 and "Indexing" service on Evault Server A-001. The environment contains multiple Evault Servers and a Vault Stores Partition linked to each EV Server. If I create a generic PG with the "Override Inherited Settings" not marked it will use the Vault Store defaults specified on the Exchange Server properties or EV server properties. If this generic PG was set to automatically enable users; how will the following work?

a) If no value has been specified under the Exchange Server properties, but a vault store was specified on every EV server. How will multiple users that will be automatically enabled be distributed between multiple Ev servers or Vault Store Partitions within a SITE?

b) Per the above example; let's say I remove PG "A" and keep the generic PG. Will it keep the user's archive previously specified in PG "A" under the same Vault Store partition it had prior to this change because it will recognize that is where the user's archive existed prior to removing PG "A"?

Please advise on your comments or feedback,
Thanks for the help!

If the Override is not set either on the exchange server or provisioning group or computer properties, the user won't be automatically enabled.
You would have to enable the user through the vault admin console.

Once an archiving default has been set on any of those three, the user will forever be associated with that vault store, regardless of provisioning group.
The only way to change that is to disable the user, delete the archive then re-enable the user
